The iconic family drama returns with a fresh season, featuring Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay, sparking excitement among fans across generations.
The wait is finally over for fans of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, as Smriti Irani shared the much-anticipated promo of the show’s new season on Instagram. In a nostalgic and emotionally rich teaser, Irani steps back into the role of Tulsi, reflecting on her journey as a mother, wife, and daughter-in-law.
The promo captures her revisiting memories, smiling at old photos, holding Mihir and Tulsi’s wedding card, and coming across Gomji’s famous leather jacket. Lighting a diya before Baa’s photograph, Tulsi thoughtfully comments on how values and traditions have become even more important in today’s times.
The caption of the promo reads: “Tulsi returns with a new perspective in changing times. Are you ready to join her in this new journey? Watch Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, starting July 29, 10:30 pm, only on StarPlus and anytime on JioHotstar.”
The return of the cult classic has quickly become one of the most talked-about comebacks on Indian television. Adding to the buzz is the reunion of Smriti Irani with Amar Upadhyay, who reprises his beloved role of Mihir Virani. The premiere is scheduled for July 29 at 10:30 pm on Star Plus and will also be available for streaming on JioHotstar.
Meanwhile, speculation had been growing about Irani possibly taking a break from politics to accommodate her television comeback. Addressing this, the actor-turned-politician responded firmly on social media platform X: “No break. Worked in both media and politics for 25 years, took a decade break only due to my responsibility as a cabinet minister. I have never compromised on my organisational responsibilities, and never will.”
One admirer even commented, “With all due respect for your decision to return back to media. Thousands of your admirers wish for your active presence in politics too, especially with the Bengal and UP elections nearing.” Smriti replied warmly, saying, “My pranaam to your Ma… be assured of my active political contribution during the forthcoming elections as assigned by the sangathan.”
Smriti Irani’s journey has come full circle. From becoming a household name with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi to taking on major political responsibilities as a Union Minister handling portfolios like Human Resource Development, Textiles, Women and Child Development, and Minority Affairs, she has made her mark in both entertainment and governance.
Now, as Tulsi returns with new depth and insight, audiences are eager to witness how the iconic character navigates the challenges of today’s world.
