Actor Sonu Sood has stirred controversy by expressing his support for a Swiggy Instamart delivery man who was caught stealing a pair of shoes kept outside a flat in Gurugram on April 9.
In a post on X, Sood suggested that people should ‘be kind’ and refrain from taking any action against the man. Instead, he urged them to “buy him a new pair of shoes” as a gesture of understanding and compassion.

The incident came to light when a CCTV footage of the theft was shared on X by Rohit Arora, who claimed that the delivery man stole his friend’s shoes.
“Swiggy’s drop and pickup service. A delivery boy just took my friend’s shoes (Nike) and they won’t even share his contact,” Rohit Arora said in his post
“Swiggy support called and just said they can’t track their rider. We need to contact their legal team or file a police complaint. At this point its not about shoes its about safety. The rider was let into the house for delivering goods. Now we all have to think about doing it”
Swiggy’s customer care team responded to the incident promptly, but Sood’s intervention took the conversation in a different direction.
While some condemned Sood’s stance, others supported his plea for kindness and empathy. They argued that the delivery man might have been driven by genuine need and urged people to consider the circumstances before passing judgment.
