Special Action Plan chalked out for women’s safety by PMC and Pune Police

In the last few days Pune has witnessed severe crime against women. And hence, Pune Municipal Corporation and Pune City Police have jointly drawn an action plan to tackle against these crime and provide safety to the citizens.

The joint meeting held was attended by Amitabh Gupta, commissioner, Pune City Police, Joint commissioner Dr Ravindra Shisave, Vikram Kumar, Commissioner, PMC, Mayor Pune Municipal Corporation Murlidhar Mohol, all party leaders and PMC officials. The meeting was held to chalk out a plan to bring more safety for women and also decided to form ward office level teams. 

The meeting highlighted below points : 
Many women have been working in late night shifts and violence against women is increasing during late hours of the day.  
Installation of CCTV surveillance system at school grounds, gardens, railway station, Swargate bus stand, Shivaji Nagar bus stand and more lights in these areas. 
Sanskar Varg shall be introduced in private as well as Government schools 
Self defence workshop for women 
Lessons on good and bad touch shall be given to all 
Special Action plan for Ola, Uber, autorickshaw, school van shall be implemented 
In public transport, PMPML and RTO shall be brought in to draw a plan for women’s safety 
Strict plan for hotels, lodges, etc. Data collection of people living on footpath
