A SpiceJet flight from Pune to Jaipur was cancelled in the early hours of Friday, leaving passengers stranded and frustrated after a six-hour delay. The flight, SG-1078, was scheduled to depart from Pune at 7:45 pm on Thursday and arrive in Jaipur at 9:55 pm.
“Passengers got worried after the boarding did not start within the expected time. Then text messages started to come about the flight getting delayed because of operational reasons. Around 1 am, the restless flyers were told that the flight had been cancelled. This resulted in chaos and flyers got into arguments with the airline’s clueless staffers,” said a passenger.
According to a source in the airline, the aircraft slated to operate on the Pune-Jaipur sector had earlier flown from Pune to Bhavnagar and then to Mumbai before coming back to Bhavnagar, and finally to Pune. However, the aircraft got grounded in Mumbai due to technical reasons.
The cancellation of the flight left passengers stranded and seeking alternative arrangements. The airline’s handling of the situation has been criticized by passengers, who were left without prior information about the rescheduling and faced unhelpful staff.
