In a shocking case of digital harassment, a man was arrested for bombarding his former girlfriend with over 300 unwanted cash-on-delivery packages over a span of four months, forcing her to seek police help. The 24-year-old woman, employed as a bank executive, approached the Lake Town police station after enduring repeated harassment.
She reported receiving a flood of COD deliveries that disrupted her daily life and even led to her accounts being blocked by major e-commerce sites like Amazon and Flipkart, according to the Times of India.
Initially, investigators suspected workplace mischief, but their probe eventually revealed that the perpetrator was the woman’s ex-boyfriend, 25-year-old Suman Sikdar from Nadia.

The two had recently ended their long-term relationship, and Sikdar, unable to cope with the breakup, began sending the parcels as an act of revenge.
During questioning, Sikdar admitted to placing the orders and also harassing the woman via anonymous messages and phone calls. He claimed the woman was fond of online shopping and often requested gifts, which he couldn’t afford. Believing she ended the relationship because of his financial limitations, he decided to retaliate by flooding her with COD packages.

The woman recounted that the deliveries began around November, soon after their breakup. She had to return hundreds of items, ranging from electronics and clothing to small gifts.
February was particularly overwhelming, with several supposed Valentine’s Day gifts arriving daily. The constant deliveries led to clashes with delivery personnel, negative ratings, and eventual account blocks by the platforms.
Sikdar was presented in Salt Lake court on Wednesday and was released on bail, the report concluded.
