Pune: The construction work of the Shivaji Nagar bus stand has simply remained on paper with the ST administration, Pune division saying that MahaMetro is supposed to build the entire Shivaji Nagar bus stand with all the planning etc. whereas MahaMetro is saying that they haven’t received any plan of building the bus stand from ST administration.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Dr Hemant Sonawane, Executive Director of Public Relations And Administration, Pune Metro said, “We have taken 34 gunthas (4114 Square Yards) land of MSRTC to build Shivajinagar metro station. An ST stand will be constructed by MahaMetro in that space. However, ST is going to give us the necessary plan for that. But, we have not received any such plan till now. After receiving the plan, an MoU will be made for Shivajinagar ST stand after which the construction work will begin.”

Sachin Shinde, Divisional Traffic Officer, MSRTC Pune Division said, “According to the contract between MahaMetro & ST, MahaMetro should construct the Shivajinagar bus stand immediately so that we can start our bus services from Shivajinagar for passengers just like before.”

As per information, on one hand, the ST administration of Pune division is saying to build the bus stand at Shivajinagar as soon as possible; on the other hand, the metro administration is saying that the ST should give us the plan for the construction first. In this, ST passengers are suffering and they are demanding that both the administrations should take a concrete decision in this regard immediately without arguing.
