Startling Kidnapping Hoax Unravels in Kota: Student’s Plot for Overseas Study Funds Exposed

A startling kidnapping case emerged in Kota, sending shockwaves through the community. On March 18, the director of Bairad’s school in Shivpuri received distressing WhatsApp images purportedly depicting the abduction of Kavya Dhakad, his daughter. The chilling photos showed Kavya bound by ropes, with the kidnapper demanding a hefty ransom of Rs 30 lakh.

The news of the student’s alleged abduction sparked widespread concern, prompting swift police action to unravel the mystery. However, as investigations unfolded, startling revelations came to light. Contrary to initial reports, it was discovered that Kavya was neither enrolled in any Kota coaching center nor residing in the city’s hostels, as claimed by her family.

What Transpired? Police inquiries revealed a shocking truth: the entire kidnapping saga was a fabricated hoax concocted by Kavya and two accomplices. The motive behind this elaborate charade was revealed to be Kavya’s desire to study abroad, for which she and her friend required substantial funds. Resorting to extreme measures, they devised a plan to extort money from Kavya’s father under the guise of a staged kidnapping.

Authorities swiftly apprehended one of the student’s associates, while Kavya and her primary accomplice remain at large, eluding police capture thus far.

Unraveling the Deception Kota’s Superintendent of Police, Dr. Amrita Duhan, shed light on the investigation’s findings. It was revealed that Kavya had briefly visited Kota with her mother on August 3 to obtain admission forms for a coaching center. However, she departed for Indore on August 5, and subsequent inquiries uncovered no evidence of criminal activity involving the student.
