State Excise Department seizes illegal possession of Goan alcohol worth Rs 43 lakh in Katraj

Pune: Illegal Goan liquor worth Rs 43 Lakh has been seized by the State Excise Department on October 6 in the Katraj area.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, S L Patil, Inspector of Pune Division C, State Excise Department said, “On Friday, 3 people have been arrested in this case. 15 boxes containing 180 illegal liquor bottles each were seized which are worth Rs 42,90,000. Our team was given inside information about the unlawful activity. While on patrol in Katraj area on old Pune-Satara road, the team took into custody a six-wheeler luxury vehicle outside a petrol pump from which all the alcohol was seized.”
As per further information shared by S L Patil, the 3 accused have been detained & a case has been registered under Sections 65(a), 65(e), 83, 90 & 108 of the Bombay Prohibition Act, 1949.
