Supporters Protest in Pimpri with Posters Praising Eknath Shinde, Urge Revival of Welfare Schemes
Pimpri-Chinchwad: Posters praising Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde as a “Man of God” have surfaced in front of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) office.
The banners urge authorities not to discontinue the welfare schemes introduced by Shinde during his tenure as Chief Minister.
The posters, which reportedly appeal to Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik, surfaced after Shinde was removed from the state’s disaster management committee. His supporters have expressed discontent over the state government’s decision to halt schemes such as ‘Anandacha Shidha’ and ‘Tirth Darshan,’ which were launched under his leadership.
While the source of the posters remains unclear, speculation suggests that ST (State Transport) employees may have put them up. Several leaders from Shinde’s party have voiced their disappointment over the recent developments.
Meanwhile, opposition leaders have criticized the schemes, calling them election-driven initiatives.
