Tapola-Mahabaleshwar Route Shut After Landslide, Use Alternate Route Through Zholachi Khind
Satara, June 19: A major landslide near Maharola, in the forest area of Zhol Khind on the Tapola-Mahabaleshwar Road, has caused serious damage. A 40-meter-long and 5-meter-wide section of the newly built tar road has broken and been washed away.
In view of this, Tehsildar Tejaswini Patil has appealed to all vehicle drivers and travelers to use the Manghar-Parut-Zholachi Khind route as an alternative until the damaged section is restored.
The Public Works Department (PWD) has deployed three JCB machines to fill the eroded portion and repair the road. However, continuous heavy rainfall has been hampering the repair efforts. With the ongoing risk of further landslides , traffic has been officially diverted to prevent any accidents.
Tehsildar Patil has also urged commuters using this stretch to remain cautious but not panic while traveling on the alternate route.
