Over 142 flat holders in Gemini Park society in Mohamadwadi struggled for over one decade for Pune Municipal Corporation water.

The residents knocked on the doors of all the local corporators seeking relief from the increasing water issues but were always sent back with assurances. Tired of this, the residents decided to take matters into their own hands and approached PMC and brought a water connection for themselves.

Ankur Joshi, a resident of Gemini Park said, “We are honest tax payers to the Pune Municipal Corporation for the last many years. But despite this, we were lacking water supply from the PMC. We spent almost approximately Rs 60,000 every month to procure water from private suppliers. Tired of this everyday struggle, we approached the PMC and decided to resolve it.”

The society worked on getting the connection from PMC and got legal water connection from the civic administration themselves. But the tragedy didn’t stop here. When the society was getting the work done the local corporator hurled abuses to the residents and warned them to stop it, said a resident.
