Panic spread briefly at Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai’s Parel area on Friday morning after the hospital received an email claiming a bomb had been planted on the premises. Police forces and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) rushed to the scene and carried out an extensive search operation, but no suspicious objects were found.

According to Zonal Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ragasudha R, the threat was ultimately confirmed to be a hoax. “An email falsely claiming a bomb threat was sent to Tata Memorial Hospital this morning. We found nothing unusual during the search, and the investigation is now continuing through legal channels,” she stated.

The threatening email arrived at around 9:00 AM, prompting the hospital authorities to immediately inform the police. Security personnel and bomb squad members responded quickly and conducted a detailed sweep of the hospital to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.

Though the threat turned out to be false, the incident caused temporary alarm and disruption. Authorities are now focused on tracing the origin of the email and are working to track down the sender by identifying the Internet Protocol (IP) address used. Investigations are ongoing as police pursue legal procedures related to the incident.
