Tata Motors and Tata International Launch Vehicle Scrapping Facility in Pune
Tata Motors, India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, and Tata International, the Tata Group’s global trading arm, have inaugurated a state-of-the-art vehicle scrapping facility in Pune. Operated by Tata International Vehicle Applications (TIVA), the facility, branded as Re.Wi.Re – Recycle with Respect, has the capacity to safely dismantle up to 21,000 end-of-life vehicles annually, adhering to environmentally sustainable practices.
During the launch, Girish Wagh, Executive Director of Tata Motors, emphasized the initiative’s role in fostering a circular economy. “Re.Wi.Re reflects our commitment to sustainability through innovative recycling. The Pune facility is part of the growing Re.Wi.Re network, with existing centers in Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Surat, Chandigarh, and Delhi NCR. These facilities feature advanced digitalized operations and adhere to stringent safety and environmental standards outlined in India’s vehicle scrappage policy.
TIVA, established in 2005, is a leading trailer manufacturer in India. Initially focused on supplying Tata Motors, the company has expanded to serve diverse sectors, including defense and infrastructure. Its expertise in engineering and innovation reinforces its position as a key player in the commercial vehicle industry.
The launch of the Pune facility underscores the Tata Group’s dedication to sustainability and innovation, paving the way for a more organized and eco-friendly vehicle recycling ecosystem in India.
