The electric micro-SUV gets a cleaner front look, fresh colour options and likely feature upgrades, while retaining the same battery and range choices.

Tata Motors has officially revealed the Punch EV facelift ahead of its scheduled launch on February 20, bringing subtle yet noticeable styling updates to the popular electric micro-SUV. The refreshed model is expected to strengthen Tata’s position in the fast-growing sub-Rs 15 lakh EV segment.

The biggest changes are concentrated at the front. The Punch EV facelift now features a cleaner and more contemporary fascia, with a more closed-off grille design compared to the outgoing version. Tata has removed the black trim element that previously connected the headlamps, giving the nose a more minimal and uncluttered appearance.

Adding to the visual refresh is a striking new yellow paint option paired with a contrasting black roof. The shade is similar to the Sunlit Yellow seen on the Harrier and helps highlight the revised design details.

The headlamp housing has also been updated. While the vertically stacked layout remains, the unit now looks larger and more angular, lending the Punch EV a bolder stance. The LED daytime running lamps continue, and the front-mounted charging port remains unchanged.

The lower bumper section now gets a redesigned grille with vertical slats, along with a faux skid plate finished in silver, enhancing the SUV-like character.

From the sides, the facelift appears largely similar to the current Punch EV, though Tata is expected to introduce a new set of aero-styled alloy wheels. At the rear, a slightly tweaked bumper and a revised LED tail-lamp design with a lightbar could be introduced, drawing cues from the recently launched Punch facelift.

Inside, changes are expected to be evolutionary rather than dramatic. Tata may offer new upholstery and a mildly redesigned dashboard layout. Reports suggest the facelift could receive a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, similar to the one available on the Nexon EV, along with updated software.

The Punch EV facelift is already expected to remain feature-rich, potentially offering a 10.25-inch digital driver display, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, 360-degree camera, connected car technology, ambient lighting and auto-dimming IRVM. Safety could also see a boost, with a Level 2 ADAS suite likely to be introduced.

Mechanically, the Punch EV facelift is expected to retain the same battery and motor options. These include a 25kWh battery pack with an ARAI-claimed range of 265km and a larger 35kWh unit delivering up to 365km. The smaller battery produces 82hp and 114Nm, while the larger pack offers 120bhp and 190Nm of torque.

Prices are expected to rise marginally over the current Punch EV range, which is priced between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 14.44 lakh (ex-showroom). With sharper styling and possible feature upgrades, the facelift aims to remain competitive in India’s rapidly expanding EV market.
