Pune: Newly Married 19-Year-Old Woman Dies After Jumping From Building, Suicide Note Mentions Family Pressure
In a heartbreaking incident that has sent shockwaves through a residential community in Mumbai, a 17-year-old girl lost her life after jumping from the 23rd floor of a high-rise building in the early hours of Thursday. The tragedy occurred at the Oberoi Square complex located in the Goregaon East area of the city.
The deceased, a Class XI student, reportedly jumped from the C wing of the residential tower, according to officials from the Aarey Colony police station. The young girl’s identity has not been disclosed, and authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances that led to the incident.
This devastating episode comes just weeks after a similar case was reported in the same complex, where a male student had died by suicide after jumping from the A wing of the building.
The close proximity of the two incidents—both in location and timing—has sparked serious concern among residents about mental health awareness and safety within the high-rise community.
A case of accidental death has been registered by the police, who are now gathering statements from witnesses and reviewing the area where the incident took place. Officials are trying to piece together what might have driven the teenager to take such an extreme step.
