Thane Woman Forged Docs To Meet Pak Man She "Married Online", Claim Cops
Authorities in Thane, Maharashtra, are investigating a woman who allegedly used fake documents to obtain a Pakistani visa to meet a man she married online.
A woman from Thane, Maharashtra, is under police investigation for allegedly using false documents, including a forged name and Aadhaar card, to secure a Pakistani visa. The woman, known as Nagma Noor Maksood Ali, returned from Pakistan on July 17 but authorities claim her documents identified her as Sanam Khan Rukh.
The case came to the police’s attention when Nagma returned to India last week. It was revealed that in 2021, she had connected with Babar Bashir Ahmed from Abbottabad, Pakistan via Facebook. The two developed a relationship and exchanged phone numbers. Nagma initially applied for a Pakistani visa, which was rejected.
In February 2024, Nagma and Babar married online, prompting her to apply for a visa again. This time, she allegedly used the name Sanam Khan Rukh in her documents. The police discovered the discrepancy upon her return.
Nagma’s mother, who resides in Thane, disputed the police’s claims. She explained that in 2015, Nagma changed her name after separating from her husband. She also changed her children’s names. Despite these claims, the police have neither detained nor arrested Nagma but have launched a full investigation into the matter.
