The Kalyani School maintains clean record

Pune: The Kalyani School proved to be a handful for their opponents winning all three categories but in contrasting styles in the Loyola Football Cup powered by Tata Autocomp at the Loyola H.S ground, Pashan here on Tuesday.

The tournament, organised by the Ex Loyola Students Network (ELAN) and Loyola High School, Pune, saw The Kalyani School win in Under-12, 14 and 16 sections, while Vidya Bhavan H.S triumphed in two age groups with easy wins.

In the Under-12 section, The Kalyani School had Parth Badhani (9th) win them all three points winning 1-0 against Infant Jesus High School.

On the other hand, Vidya Bhavan had it easy with a 7-0 win over Hume McHenry Memorial School. A three-goal effort by Jonathan Manoj (18th, 24th, 30th) and a brace by Arnav Bhosale (4th, 26th) and Jonathan Salve (16th, 33th) was the feature of the win.

The Under-14 section had The Kalyani School run past Infant Jesus High School 3-1. Aarav Nagar (4th) opened the account, before Devansh Jobanputra (46th, 49th) scored quickly to settle the account.

Later, Vidya Bhavan pushed aside the challenge of Hume McHenry Memorial School 3-0. Second-half goals by Malhar Darekar (33rd), Vaibhav Melinkeri (36th) and Ayush Thakur (47th) was enough to swing the result in Vidya Bhavan’s favour.

The Under-16 section had The Kalyani School score their best win of the day by thrashing Infant Jesus High School 8-1. The win was aided by a 4-goal feat by Arnav Meshram (2nd, 8th, 25th, 56th). The other scorers were Sohum Utrya (4th, 13th, 48th) and Pranay Chainani (39th).
