Thermal screening of international passengers from 25 December, informs State Health Minister

Nagpur: A new variant of Covid-19 BF7 is prominent in many countries which has a high infection rate. Although no patients of the new variant have been found in Maharashtra, as a precaution, the State government has begun the preparations of bringing into place new protocols and starting the testing of people.

Minister Sawant said, “The intensity of the new variant to spread is higher than the Omicron variant. A review meeting was conducted on December 22, which was chaired by the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister. The State government will be emphasising on the testing of people, follow-up, treatment and vaccination as a precautionary measure. It is important to keep the health systems ready.” 

In the state, the percentage of vaccination against Covid virus is 95. According to the guidelines of the Central Government, the thermal screening of international passengers will be done from December 25, informed Health Minister Sawant.
