ThermoVerita Company Faces Potential Auction In Controversial IAS Trainee Officer Pooja Khedkar Case
There is a possibility that the ThermoVerita Company might be auctioned due to unpaid taxes linked to the controversial case involving IAS trainee officer Pooja Khedkar. Nilesh Deshmukh, head of the tax collection department, has informed that the company, which has already been seized, could be auctioned if the pending amount of Rs. 2.72 lakh is not paid.
Pooja Khedkar has been embroiled in multiple controversies, including obtaining a seven percent disability certificate from YCM Hospital by using the address of ThermoVerita Company in Pimpri-Chinchwad. Khedkar used a ration card as her identity proof, which listed the company’s address. As a result, a seizure notice was served to the company, and now there is a potential for auction.
The company had been regular with its tax payments until April 2022. However, it now owes Rs. 2.72 lakh in unpaid taxes for the past two years. A pre-seizure notice was issued in March, followed by a warrant and the subsequent seizure of the company’s property. The company has 21 days from the warrant’s issuance to pay the dues; otherwise, an auction or sale of the property may proceed.
The potential auction of ThermoVerita Company adds another layer of complexity to the controversies surrounding IAS trainee officer Pooja Khedkar. While the auction is not yet confirmed, the deadline for payment is approaching, and the company’s fate hangs in the balance.
