Globant, a leading software company led by founder and CEO Martin Migoya, has made a groundbreaking decision regarding its workforce, implementing a fully remote work model for its approximately 30,000 employees across 33 countries. This move positions Globant as one of the world’s largest tech companies by headcount to remain fully remote.

Migoya emphasized the importance of flexibility in the company’s approach, stating, “We have been very flexible; we will continue being very flexible.” Rather than coercing employees to return to the office, Globant aims to make the office an attractive hub for collaboration and connection, reimagining office spaces to better suit the evolving needs of its workforce.

The company has redesigned its offices post-pandemic, incorporating features such as round tables for collaborative work, additional lounge areas, and private meeting spaces. Employees have the freedom to choose whether to work remotely or utilize the office facilities, including amenities like Argentine barbecue, gym facilities, ping-pong, and even a mechanical bull in the Buenos Aires headquarters.

While initially considering a mandatory return-to-office policy post-pandemic, Migoya opted for a more flexible and accommodating approach, recognizing the benefits of fostering a hybrid work environment. Additionally, Globant is set to expand its workforce further, with plans to hire an additional 20,000 employees over the next five years as part of a $1 billion investment.
