Three Arrested After 25 Vehicles Vandalized in Pune’s Bibwewadi Area
Pune, February 5, 2025: A group of miscreants went on a rampage in Pune’s Bibwewadi area early Wednesday, damaging more than 25 vehicles parked along the streets. The Bibwewadi police have arrested three suspects in connection with the incident.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Niranjan Devkar alias Andy, Abhishek Pandhare, and Ganraj Thakar. According to the police, the group was traveling in a vehicle around 1:30 am when they began smashing windscreens and damaging parts of cars, two-wheelers, and transport vehicles. The vandalism occurred in multiple locations, including Upper Indiranagar, Durgamata Garden, Suvarna Mitra Mandal, and Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, and continued for nearly 30 to 40 minutes.
Preliminary investigations reveal that at least 25 vehicles were damaged. Our teams responded immediately after receiving calls from local residents, and a search was initiated to locate the suspects.
In previous similar cases across Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, authorities have invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) to curb such incidents.
