Three dead, 18 injured as cargo truck hits Neeta Travels passenger bus on Pune Bengaluru highway

In a tragic incident that took place near Swami Narayan temple near Narhe on Pune Bengaluru highway, 22 people were injured while four people lost their lives. Four vehicle tenders, one rescue van from Pune Central Fire Brigade and one rescue van from Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority were rushed to the spot to rescue people. The accident was reported at 2.17 AM on April 23.

The firemen broke the glass window of the passenger and rescued the passengers who were stuck in the bus. Firemen rescued 18 injured people and were taken to the hospital in 108 ambulance for further treatment. Private bus MH 03 C owned by Neeta Travels was travelling from Kolhapur to Dombivali, while cargo truck MH 10 CR 1224 was carrying sugar bags.

Six ambulances were pressed into service which took the injured to the hospital for further treatment while firemen from Navale, Sinhagad, Katraj, Kothrud and central fire brigade were involved in rescuing the injured. The accident led to traffic congestion for a brief period till the rescue operation was carried out.
