Pune Traffic Police Issues New Measures to Curb Accidents on Katraj – Kondhwa Road and Khadi Machine Chowk

Pune: Pune City is set to experience temporary traffic changes from 31st March to 21st April 2023 due to the ongoing construction work of the Metro station at Bund  garden on the Pune Metro Reach 3 route. The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. will be carrying out the steel girder erection, which requires a change in traffic routes.

In accordance with the Government of Maharashtra Home Department No. M.V. A.0196 / 871 / CR 37/ TRA-2, dated 27/09/1996, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Pune City, Koregaon Park Traffic Division, Vijayakumar Magar has exercised his power and issued a notification regarding the temporary changes in traffic routes.

The temporary changes will take place between 10 pm to 6 am from 31st March to 21st April 2023. As per the notification, Koregaon Park under the Traffic Department. Traffic from Babasaheb Ambedkar Statue to Tarakeshwar Chowk will be closed during the said period.

Alternative routes have been proposed for vehicles coming from Pune station to Yerwada. They will proceed via Mobaj Chowk, Mangaldas Road, Chowk, Koregaon Park Junction, and Parnkuti Chowk.

Meanwhile, vehicles coming from Pune Station and heading towards Boat Club can take a left turn at Dhole-Patil and proceed to their desired destination. Vehicles coming from Boat Club Road and going towards Yerwada can take Amrutlal Mehta Road straight from Sriman Chowk to reach their destination via Koregaon Park Chowk. Lastly, vehicles coming from Yerwada towards Pune station can take a right turn at Parnakuti Chowk, Mahatma Gandhi Chowk, Koregaon Park Junction, Blue Diamond Chowk, and proceed to their destination.

The temporary changes in traffic routes are expected to facilitate the construction work at the Metro station and ensure the safety of commuters during the said period. Commuters are advised to follow the alternative routes to avoid any inconvenience during the said period.
