To break the chain of the Covid19 in Pune city, under the Break the Chain initiative of the government, restrictions have been imposed on movements in the city. But, it has been observed that citizens are gathering at the Market Yard to buy essential items at the retail shops which is leading to over crowding at the Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee in Market yard, Pune.

In the joint meeting held by APMC, Pune and city administration it was decided to curb the movement of people in the market premises. The market committee has decided to shut the retail shops and allow wholesale shops to remain open.


To keep a tab on the movement of vehicles, as per the Motor vehicle Act 0196 / 871 / CR-37 / TRA 2, dated September 27, 1996 notification MVA Section 115 / 116/1 A B, 116 (4), 117, Deputy Commissioner of Police, traffic, Pune Rahul Shrirame has informed that from May 16, 2021 to June 1 , 2021 till 7 am vehicle entry shall remain prohibited.

The road stretch from Wakhar Mahamandal to Market Yard chowk (Utsav chowk) and Market Yard to (Utsav chowk ) to Wakhar Mahamandal chowk.

Since, wholesale market shall remain open, the vehicles shall be allowed to enter from Banana market and can exit from main gate and are allowed entry to the right side (Wakhar Mahamandal) and left towards Market Yard.
