Traffic Diversions Announced in Sinhagad Fort Area Ahead of Pune Grand Challenge Cycling Event 2026
Pune, November 21, 2025: The Pune Grand Challenge long-distance cycling competition 2026 has been scheduled, and considering safety and traffic management during the event, District Collector and District Magistrate Jitendra Dudi has issued traffic diversion orders under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and the Home Department’s notification dated May 19, 1990.
As per the order, traffic diversions will be in effect from 00:01 am on November 19, 2025, to 24:00 pm on November 20, 2025, and again from 24:00 pm on November 24, 2025, to 24:00 pm on November 26, 2025, in the Sinhagad area.
Since no alternative route is available for tourists visiting Sinhagad Fort, the Sinhagad Fort road will remain completely closed during this period. All traffic from Panchet, Khanapur, Donje, and Atkarwadi towards Khed-Shivapur via the Sinhagad Ghat route will also be restricted.
Residents of the affected areas have been advised to use the Donje Chowk–Khadakwasla–Kirkattwadi–Nanded City–Vadgaon Dhairi route to access National Highway 48 (Pune–Bengaluru Highway) for travel towards Khed-Shivapur.
District Collector Dudi has appealed to citizens to cooperate with the traffic authorities for the smooth conduct of the competition.
