Traffic Diversions Announced Near Sus And Nandegaon Road Ahead Of President's Visit On September 3
In light of the President of India’s scheduled visit to Symbiosis University, Lavale, Pune on September 3, 2024, the Pune District Collector and District Magistrate have announced traffic diversions to prevent congestion and maintain law and order. According to a notification issued by the District Collector’s office (Ref. No. 3741/2024), all light, heavy, and extra-heavy vehicles will be diverted on the day of the visit from 12:01 AM to 4:00 PM.
To facilitate smooth traffic flow during this period, vehicles traveling via the Nandegaon-Sunnyworld and Sus routes will be rerouted. Traffic will be diverted from Nandegaon-Male towards Pune via Hinjewadi and from Nandegaon-Pirangut to Chandni Chowk. The authorities have appealed to citizens to use these alternative routes to avoid congestion.
The diversion does not apply to vehicles of the police department, revenue department, fire brigade, ambulances, or other essential services.
The Pune Rural Police Superintendent has emphasized the importance of this measure to ensure the safety of the President and to avoid any traffic disruptions during the visit. The public is urged to cooperate with the traffic diversions for a smooth and secure event.
