Traffic diversions made on experimental basis at University Chowk
Pune : Pune Traffic Police, Pune Municipal Corporation, Metro officials, Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority officials jointly conducted an inspection at Savitribai Phule Pune University Chowk due to increasing traffic congestion and accordingly made changes in the traffic flow. Whereas, the diversions made in traffic flow is on experimental basis, the citizens are appealed to follow the alternative routes.
The traffic diversions are made at the Savitribai Phule Pune Vidyapeeth Chowk, Baner Road, Pashan Road, Ganeshkhind Road, Senapati Bapat Road and other affected roads as necessary.
1) Vehicles coming from Baner and Aundh road to Vidyapeeth Chowk should take the left lane towards Shivajinagar without waiting for signal, while pedestrians crossing the road will be given time
2) Earlier vehicles heading to Senapati Bapat road had to take a U-turn from Cosmos bank, but now a direct right turn will be allowed from Senapati Bapat Road Junction.
3) All traffic coming towards Vidyapeeth Chowk from Senapati Bapat Road (Chatushringi Mandir) is supposed to take left from the junction and turn straight towards Pashan Road.
4) The alternative routes are made available to reach the desired location at Aundh from Vidyapeeth Chowk via Ganeshkhind Road.
Alternate Circular route 1:
From Ganeshkhind Road and Senapati Bapat Road vehicles coming from Chaturshringi Post, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kasturba Gandhi Colony can take right turns at Pashan Road at Sinhagad Gate (Pune Rural Police Headquarters), then again a right at Baner Road and go thẹn straight at Vidyapeeth Chowk and a left turn to head towards Aundh.

Alternate Circular route 2:
Through Abhimanashree Society via Pashan Road. At Pashan Road Junction take right to Abhimanashree Society and then at Baner Road Junction take a right on Baner Road and go straight through Vidyapeeth Chowk and then take a left towards Aundh.
Alternate Circular route 3:
Vehicles going towards Aundh from Ganeshkhind Road and Senapati Bapat Road can use Abhimanshree Society via Pashan Road. At Pashan Road Junction take a right to Abhimanashree Society, then at Baner Road Junction turn left to Baner Phata, take a right turn from Sarja Hotel corner and then a left to Chroma Mall road or right for Baner Phata. Then go to the desired destination via Parihar Chowk.
5) Alternate route for citizens going to Pune Station via Rajiv Gandhi bridge from Pimpri Chinchwad side and coming back
Alternate Route 1 :
For vehicles going vai Rajiv Gandhi Bridge to Khadki, Yerwada, Pune Station, Lashkar, Koregaon Park should take a left turn at Bremen Chowk and go through Spicer College Road, Ambedkar Chowk, Sai Chowk, then turn right to Khadki Post Railway Underpass, another left from Church Chowk and use Old Pune Highway.
Alternate Route 2 :
For vehicles coming from Pune Station, Koregaon Park, Mundhwa to Aundh should come straight via Engineering College Flyover, Wakdewadi, Poultry Farm Chowk, Church Chowk, then take left at Khadki Post Underpass, then left turn at Mari Aai Mandir, again right at Gogadev Chowk, next right at J Type (Football Ground ), last right turn at Sai Chowk and then a left at Ambedkar Chowk to Spicer Chowk to Bremen Chowk to reach the desired destination.
