If you have plans to travel from Mumbai to Pune or vice versa, there’s an important update to note. The Yashwantrao Chavan Mumbai-Pune Expressway, which links these key cities in Maharashtra, is currently facing slow traffic conditions.
As per the information available, many citizens travel from Mumbai to Pune and vice versa during the weekend holidays (Saturday and Sunday). This often leads to significant traffic jams on the expressway.
Late Friday night and early Saturday morning, traffic came to a standstill, especially around Khandala Ghat. Travelers experienced gridlock that continued into the early hours, with congestion still evident at 2 a.m.
Right now, a cold wave is affecting the entire state of Maharashtra, and Pune district is no different. Over the last few days, Pune has also been experiencing quite a bit of cold weather. Moreover, due to the fog covering the Khandala Ghat and an increase in vehicle traffic, the movement of vehicles has slowed down.
If you plan to travel on the expressway today, there’s a strong chance you might get caught in a traffic jam.
