Tragic Accident on Pune-Nashik Highway Claims Biker’s Life; Truck Driver Arrested

A heart-wrenching incident occurred on the Pune-Nashik highway in Chakan when a speeding truck collided with a two-wheeler, resulting in the loss of a life. The unfortunate accident took place on Saturday (July 29) around 1:30 pm, leaving the biker fatally injured.

The victim has been identified as Sameeruddin Cholomian Ansari, a 57-year-old individual. Ajimuddin Yusuf Ansari, aged 43 and a resident of Khandoba Mal in Chakan, has filed a complaint at the Chakan police station regarding the matter. Responding promptly to the complaint, the police have taken Balasaheb Dattatraya Raut, a 33-year-old resident of Nagtala in the Ashti district of Beed, into custody.

According to the police report, Sameeruddin Ansari from Chakan was en route from Talegaon Chowk Chakan to Ambethan Chowk Chakan on his two-wheeler via the Pune-Nashik Highway. Tragically, the driver of the truck with registration number MH 16/BC 6471 was driving at a high speed and collided with Sameeruddin’s bike from behind, causing severe injuries to him. Despite immediate medical attention, Sameeruddin succumbed to his injuries, leading to his untimely demise.

The Chakan police have launched a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident to determine the sequence of events and ascertain any potential negligence or fault on the part of the truck driver. As they continue their inquiries, the authorities are determined to bring forth justice for the loss of Sameeruddin’s life.
