In a devastating incident in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, seven members of a family, including a pregnant woman and two young children, lost their lives in a fire that ravaged a cloth store-cum-tailor’s shop in the Dana Bazaar area of the Aurangabad Cantonment.

The fire is believed to have been triggered by an electric bike that was being charged inside the tailor’s shop at 3 am. The intense blaze quickly engulfed the shop, igniting large bundles of clothes and fabric stored within. The flames then spread to the two floors situated above the shop, trapping the family members residing there.

The fire was first noticed by Moizuddin Chisti, a youth in the vicinity, who immediately raised an alarm. While some occupants managed to escape with the help of residents, tragically, all seven members of the family living on the second floor perished in the blaze.

The victims have been identified as 49-year-old Hamida Begum, her two sons Waseem (30) and Sohel (27), along with their wives Tanveer (25) and Reshma (23). Also among the deceased were Waseem’s two young children, 3-year-old Aseem and two-year-old Pari. Heartbreakingly, Reshma was eight months pregnant at the time of the tragic incident.

The community mourns the loss of these innocent lives and extends heartfelt condolences to the grieving family members affected by this devastating fire tragedy.
