Tragic Incident: Three Western Railway Employees Fatally Run Over While Repairing Signal in Vasai
Three employees of Western Railway, including Chief Signalling Inspector Vasu Mitra, lost their lives in the line of duty while attending to signalling issues between Vasai Road and Naigaon.
The unfortunate incident occurred on the UP slow line when they were run over by a passing local train on the evening of January 22, 2024.
The railway officials have provided immediate relief of Rs. 55,000 each to the family members and are set to disburse ex gratia payments, totaling around Rs. 40 lakh to Rs. 1.24 crore, within 15 days.
An inquiry has been ordered to determine the exact cause of the tragedy.
