Tragic Kothrud Accident: 19 Year Old Girl Fatally Struck by PMPML Bus on Slippery Road

A young girl died when the wheel of a PMPML bus ran over her head after her two-wheeler slipped on a slippery road. A young bike rider was injured in the accident. The incident occurred in front of the garbage depot in Kothrud on Saturday morning. Last week, numerous vehicles slipped and were involved in accidents at this location due to the slippery road conditions.

The deceased girl has been identified as Mahi Mayur Gandhi, aged 19, a resident of Manikbaug. The injured bike rider, Mandar Nanavati, is undergoing treatment at a private hospital. A case has been registered against the PMPML driver at the Kothrud police station. Police constable Amol Najan has filed a complaint at the Kothrud police station. The accident happened on Saturday, March 16, around 7 am.

According to the police, Mahi was a second-year engineering student at MIT College. She and her friend Mandar were on their way to MIT College on Saturday morning around 7 am on a two-wheeler. Both of them fell on the road when the bike skidded in front of the garbage depot.

At that moment, the wheel of the speeding bus ran over Mahi. Mahi, who was seriously injured, died before receiving treatment. Upon receiving information about the accident, the Senior Inspector of Kothrud Police Station visited the spot. The PMPML driver fled after the accident, and a case has been registered against him.
