On the occasion of New Year, many tourists go to Lonavala using the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Due to this, the number of vehicles on the expressway  increases to a large extent leading to traffic chaos.

Recently, there was a big traffic jam on the expressway in the background of the Christmas festival. Therefore, with consecutive holidays on Saturday and Sunday, the possibility of traffic congestion on the expressway cannot be ruled out. Therefore, this time too, heavy vehicles have been requested to operate their vehicles after 12 pm.

In this regard, when the highway state police examined the previous traffic congestion, 55,686 vehicles crossed the Pune Channel on the expressway in 24 hours last Saturday.

Also, 21,135 vehicles passed on Mumbai Pune’s old highway. These vehicles also have to use the combined route between the ghats. After such a huge number of vehicles, there was a traffic jam in the ghat.

However, all heavy vehicle owners/drivers associations are requested that if they start their journey on Mumbai Pune Expressway on Pune Channel after 12 pm, they would not need to halt at the ghat. It has also been said that due to no traffic jams, vehicle clutch plates, engine failure, etc will be avoided and fuel and time will be saved.

Last week many vehicles were seen stuck on the expressway. Due to this, many vehicles were damaged.
