Triptii Dimri Exits Aashiqui 3: Was 'Innocent Face' the Reason? Anurag Basu Responds.
There has been a lot of chatter about Triptii Dimri potentially missing out on a role in Aashiqui 3, which stars Kartik Aaryan, reportedly because she was deemed ‘too exposed’ for the romantic film. Reports have suggested that the filmmakers were in search of someone with “an innocent face.” In response to these claims, director Anurag Basu has come forward to share his thoughts.
The Aashiqui 3 drama has been making the rounds lately. Rumors have been swirling that Triptii’s bold and sensual image in movies like “Animal” and “Bad Newzz” prompted producers to rethink her casting and look for a different actor for the role originally meant for her.
It’s been said that the filmmakers were searching for an actor with a more “pure, innocent” on-screen presence for the part. However, Triptii’s recent roles have portrayed her in more mature and intricate characters, which didn’t quite match the filmmakers’ vision for this specific role.
According to Zoom, a source mentioned, “The key aspect to play the lead in Aashiqui 3 is innocence radiating through, and as noticed by the film’s team, Triptii Dimri, with her recent portrayals, has become too exposed for this romantic film that requires purity in the lead female character’s demeanor. Aashiqui is a classic, heartfelt love story, and the creators don’t see Triptii fitting the desired profile.”
What did Anurag Basu Say?
Anurag Basu recently addressed rumors regarding Triptii’s departure from “Aashiqui 3,” specifically about claims that she was removed for being “too exposed” in bold scenes. In an interview with Mid-day, he stated, “Not true, she knows it,” but chose not to elaborate further on the situation. Meanwhile, the third installment of “Aashiqui” has been postponed indefinitely, and according to Mid-day, the search for a new female lead is currently underway. The film is expected to start shooting later this month or in early February.
After leaving the romantic franchise, Triptii is now concentrating on Vishal Bhardwaj’s “Arjun Ustara,” which was initially set to feature Kartik but will now star Shahid Kapoor. She is also anticipated to begin shooting for “Dhadak 2,” a Dharma Productions film directed by Shazia Iqbal, where she will act alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi.
