US President claims Iran’s military capabilities have been largely destroyed as tensions in the Middle East continue.

US President Donald Trump has said that the ongoing conflict involving Iran could end soon, while issuing a strong warning to Tehran against escalating the situation further.

Speaking about the conflict, Trump said the war was “pretty much over” and claimed that Iran’s military capabilities had been severely weakened following recent strikes by the United States and Israel.

The conflict began on February 28, when the US and Israel launched joint military strikes targeting Iranian military facilities, triggering a major escalation in tensions across the Middle East.

Trump Says Iran’s Military Power ‘Destroyed’

Trump claimed that Iran had suffered major losses during the strikes and said the country’s military infrastructure had been significantly damaged.

“They have no navy, no communications, they’ve got no air force. Their missiles are down to a scatter. Their drones are being blown up all over the place,” he said while speaking about the situation.

According to the US President, Iran has lost much of its military strength and no longer has the ability to launch a large-scale attack.

Warning To Tehran

At the same time, Trump issued a sharp warning to Iran, saying the country should avoid any attempt to retaliate or escalate the conflict.

“They’ve shot everything they have to shoot, and they better not try anything cute or it’s going to be the end of that country,” Trump said.

He further warned that if Iran attempted any new attack, the United States would respond with overwhelming force.

War Could End Soon

Trump described the conflict as a “short-term excursion” and said the situation could stabilise soon, though he did not provide a specific timeline for the end of hostilities.

Earlier, he had suggested the conflict might last four to five weeks, but now believes the United States is ahead of its expected timeline.

Strait Of Hormuz Situation

Trump also claimed that shipping activity has resumed through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical oil supply routes, which had become a major concern after tensions escalated in the region.

The strait is a key transit route for global oil and gas shipments, and any disruption there has the potential to impact energy prices worldwide.

Global Impact Of The Conflict

The war has already triggered global concerns over oil supply disruptions, pushing up crude oil prices and affecting markets across several countries.

While Trump said the conflict could end soon, military officials have indicated that operations in the region may continue as the situation remains tense.
