8 new covid patients reported in Pune district yesterday

Pune: The thermal screening at the Pune International Airport has begun, while the RT PCR testing of 2 per cent random international passengers is being conducted. As per the reports received of the passengers whose RT PCR test was conducted, 2 have reported Covid positive till December 27.
While a total of 8 patients reported in the Pune district are Covid positive taking the tally of total active patients to 54. In State, Pune has the highest number of Covid-19 positive cases after Mumbai, the financial capital has 49 cases at the moment. Amongst the 8 patients, 2 patients are international passengers.

At the Pune International Airport, out of 44,666 international passengers, the RT PCR test of 703 passengers was done till 27 December.
As the Central Government has instructed the authorities to keep ready the medical facilities due to the rising Covid infection in other countries, the State health department is conducting mock drills.

On December 27, an online mock drill of all secondary and tertiary healthcare facilities in the state was completed yesterday. As a hospital preparedness exercise on the background of the international scenario of Covid-19. After the successful completion of this mock drill, nodal officers at divisional and district levels were appointed.

All districts and municipal corporations in the state, in addition to the medical colleges, participated in this important mock drill,
A review of available hospital beds, ICU facilities, equipment, oxygen system, medicine stocks, human resource and their training, and telemedicine facility for all hospitals across the state was done in the mock drill.
