PCMC to install lung billboard to create awareness about air pollution
This initiative is aimed at creating awareness among the citizens about the air condition in the city
A lung billboard (air quality indicator board) will be installed at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Chowk in Pimpri to monitor the daily air pollution level.
The board will be placed by Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation in collaboration with the Area Protection Conservation Society, informed Jitendra Wagh, PCMC Additional Commissioner.
Various activities are being implemented to protect and conserve the environment of the city through the Environment Department of the Municipal Corporation, and various measures are also being taken for environmental conservation.
This initiative is aimed at creating awareness among the citizens about the air condition in the city The billboard will be on display from January 6, 2023 to February 4, 2023. The billboard will display daily air quality statistics and the Municipal Corporation will record the data.
Sanjay Kulkarni, Joint City Engineer of the Environment Department informed that public awareness will be created by inviting the students of Municipal Corporation and private schools, colleges, various social and non-governmental organizations to this place and guide them about the state of air pollution.
