Two New Tejas Express Trains from Mumbai to Gujarat Launched to Meet Summer Rush — Check Routes, Fares, and Key Stops
Mumbai, June 15 — To cater to the surge in passenger demand during the summer season, Western Railway has launched two new Tejas Superfast Special trains from Mumbai one to Rajkot and another to Gandhidham. These premium services aim to offer faster and more comfortable travel options for long-distance commuters throughout June.
Mumbai–Rajkot Tejas Bi-weekly Special
The Mumbai Central–Rajkot Tejas Superfast Special (Train Nos. 09005/09006) will operate twice a week from May 30 to June 27, 2025.
- Train 09005 departs Mumbai Central every Wednesday and Friday at 11:20 PM, arriving in Rajkot at 11:45 AM the next day.
- Train 09006 returns from Rajkot every Thursday and Saturday at 6:30 PM, reaching Mumbai at 7:30 AM the next morning.
Mumbai–Gandhidham Tejas Weekly Special
The Mumbai Central–Gandhidham Tejas Superfast Special (Train Nos. 09017/09018) will run weekly from June 2 to July 1, 2025.
- Train 09017 departs Mumbai every Monday at 11:20 PM, reaching Gandhidham by 12:55 PM on Tuesday.
- Train 09018 leaves Gandhidham every Tuesday at 6:55 PM, arriving in Mumbai at 7:30 AM the next day.
Halts and Facilities
Both trains will halt at major stations such as Borivali, Vapi, Surat, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, and Viramgam.
- Additional stops: Surendranagar and Wankaner (Rajkot route); Samakhiali and Bhachau (Gandhidham route).
- Coach composition includes First AC, AC 2-Tier, and AC 3-Tier.
Extra Summer Specials
In addition to the Tejas services, Western Railway has extended several unreserved summer special trains:
- Udhna–Jayanagar (09067/09068) extended till June 29/30
- Udhna–Samastipur (09069/09070) extended till June 28/30
Booking Details
Reservations for Tejas trains (09005, 09006, 09017, 09018) opened on May 25, while bookings for the Udhna–Samastipur route (09069/09070) began on May 27, 2025. Tickets are available through IRCTC and PRS counters across India.
