On July 5, 2024, PMC demolished structures covering an area of 18,700 square feet, which were illegally constructed without necessary permissions. Despite prior notices, these establishments failed to rectify their unauthorized constructions, leading PMC to initiate demolition proceedings.
The demolition process involved the deployment of heavy machinery including 4 breakers, 4 JCBs, 5 grass cutters, and 20 laborers under police supervision. This action was carried out by the Building Development Department, Zone 1 of PMC.
Unauthorized constructions pose significant legal and safety risks, prompting PMC to enforce strict measures to uphold city planning regulations. Residents and businesses are urged to adhere to building codes and obtain necessary permits to avoid legal consequences.
This demolition drive reflects PMC’s commitment to maintaining urban planning standards and ensuring safety for all residents.
PMC continues to monitor and take action against any unauthorized constructions across Pune to preserve public spaces and maintain the city’s infrastructure integrity.
