Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented her eighth consecutive Union Budget on Saturday, edging closer to the record of 10 budgets set by former Prime Minister Morarji Desai. She remains the first woman to serve as a full-time Finance Minister of India.
The Union Budget 2025-26 marks the 14th consecutive budget under the Narendra Modi government since 2014. Sitharaman emphasized that this budget aims to promote growth, ensure inclusive development, energize society and industry, improve household sentiment, and boost the spending capacity of India’s growing middle class.
