Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, expressed the significance of ropeways in easing traffic congestion, revealing that the National Highway Authorities of India (NHAI) have received 40 proposals for ropeway projects. 

Gadkari highlighted the need to incorporate parking facilities, accommodation, and food arrangements for tourists during ropeway construction to boost tourism. Stressing the affordability and effectiveness of ropeway systems in addressing traffic problems, he urged relevant departments to expedite project progress by submitting detailed project reports. 

Additionally, Gadkari emphasized developing markets for local products and prioritizing solar energy for vehicle charging facilities to align with sustainable urbanization and transportation planning. 

The statements were made during the signing ceremony of an MoU between the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and the Government of Maharashtra, focusing on traffic simulation models and ropeway development.
