Unusable road near Ganga Florentina – Raheja Vista Phase 3 irks residents
The road stretch between Raheja Vista Phase 3 and Ganga Florentina was dug up by Pune municipal corporation to lay the water pipeline under the 24*7 water supply scheme.
For the last few weeks, the residents of Raheja Vista Phase 3, Imperial Towers, Ganga Kingston, Gemini Park and Ganga Florentina have been facing severe inconvenience as the contractor who laid the water pipeline did not redo the road and bring it back to usable condition.
The road work is incomplete and the rubble has occupied most part of the road, making it very difficult for commute. It is not just the motorists, but also the pedestrians who suffer.
The footpath is broken at too many places and that adds to the trouble. Residents complain that there have been many minor and major accidents on the road and despite raising complaints about the issue with the authorities concerned, the problem remains unsolved.
“The contractor must do road resurfacing to avert further accidents and it must be done on priority. Residents are having a tough time to drive, walk and park their vehicles,” said Nitin Bokey, president, Anandvan Parisar Residents Forum.
Murtaza D, another resident complained that the road opposite Ganga Florentina was dug up for water pipe line almost two months ago. “The trenches have not been filled up since and have accumulated garbage. Besides this, restaurant goers park their vehicles before this trench which makes the road to Ganga Florentina, Kingston Atlantis and Archana Paradise congested,” said Murtaza.
Anish Katare, a resident of Raheja Vista Phase 3, said that the road has been in a dilapidated condition. Residents who are struggling for basic rights are hoping that the contractor resurfaces the road immediately.
Harshad Jagdale, Engineer, L and T, who carried out the work to lay pipeline when informed about the incomplete resurfacing assured that it shall be done in the next two – three days.
