Chairman Dhonde requested societies to come forward and organise similar events

Vedanta CHS in Wakad organised two special drives, under the banner of ‘Giving it back to the society’ on July 10, 2022. The society has 344 flats with 1500 residents organised the donation drive and plantation drive in an attempt to make the planet greener and the world more sustainable.
Vedanta society chairman, Dr. Somnath Dhonde, along with the committee members coordinated with a renowned recycling agency ‘Swach’ to organise a camp where residents wholeheartedly donated old books, electronics devices, clothes and other such items. The gesture was well appreciated by the officials of the Swach organization.

The plantation drive was organised in the society was led by Kastubh Pataskar, Ashish Kulkarni and Vinayak Kadam , who are members of the CHS committee. Many saplings were planted within the society premises by the residents who participated enthusiastically. Many seniors and children also participated in the drive.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Dhonde said, “As responsible citizens of the country, it is crucial that we must do everything possible to make this planet a sustainable place for our future generations and give them a better life.” He also requested other societies to come forward and organise similar events.
