Pune: The prices of vegetables in Pune have shot up. As per information, while the prices of onion, potato and tomato have remained fairly consistent, there has been an increase in the prices of other commonly consumed vegetables like okra (bhindi), cluster beans (gavar), peas, green chillies and more.

As per information, around 295 quintals of Okra (Bhendi), 136 quintals of cluster beans (Gavar), 7267 quintals of onions, 5413 quintals of potato were collected at Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) in Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Market Yard, Pune on Monday.

Speaking to Pune Pulse Mahadev Mugle, a vegetable seller in Prabhat Road, Erandwane, Pune said, “ While the prices of tomato and onions are fairly same, prices for other vegetables like gavar, peas, bhendi etc have almost doubled. Due to this, the sale of these vegetables has decreased. Thus, we request the APMC to devise a solution so that vegetable prices  remain consistent. “
