Pawandeep Rajan, the celebrated winner of Indian Idol Season 12, met with a serious car accident in the early hours of Monday, May 5, 2025, while traveling to Noida for a professional event. The accident has left the singer with critical injuries, and he is currently under intensive medical care at Fortis Hospital, Noida.
Accident Details: From Confusion to Confirmation
Initial reports mistakenly cited Ahmedabad as the location of the accident, but it has now been confirmed by authorities and his team that the mishap occurred near Amroha, Uttar Pradesh. Pawandeep, who hails from Champawat, Uttarakhand, was en route to Noida accompanied by his driver Rahul Singh and close friend Ajay Mehra.
According to the ongoing investigation, Rahul Singh reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, leading to the vehicle crashing into the rear of an Eicher Canter truck. The impact was severe, causing significant injuries to all three occupants.
Pawandeep’s Medical Condition
Eyewitnesses at the scene acted swiftly, alerting emergency services. The injured were initially taken to a nearby government hospital, but due to the severity of Pawandeep’s condition, he was shifted to Fortis Hospital, Noida, where he underwent an emergency six-hour-long surgery.
As per hospital sources:
- Pawandeep sustained fractures in both legs
- He suffered a serious head injury
- He is currently in the ICU under constant observation
His friend Ajay Mehra and driver Rahul Singh are also being treated for critical injuries.
