Despite spending crores on their grand Udaipur wedding, the couple reportedly turned down a massive OTT deal to keep the ceremony private.

Actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna are currently making headlines after reports surfaced that the couple rejected a lucrative OTT deal to stream their wedding ceremony.

The popular South Indian celebrity couple, often referred to by fans as “Virosh,” recently tied the knot in a grand ceremony in Udaipur. Their wedding quickly became a major talking point among fans and on social media due to its unique cultural elements and the scale of celebrations.

According to reports, an international OTT platform — reportedly Netflix — offered around ₹60 crore to acquire exclusive filming and streaming rights of the wedding in a documentary-style format. The trend of streaming celebrity weddings on OTT platforms has gained popularity in recent years, with several high-profile couples turning their ceremonies into special digital events.

However, Vijay and Rashmika reportedly declined the offer, choosing instead to keep the wedding ceremony private and emotional. The couple wanted their marriage rituals to take place in the presence of close family members and friends rather than cameras.

The wedding was held in Udaipur in a traditional Kodava-style ceremony. Interestingly, instead of opting for designer outfits that are commonly seen at celebrity weddings, the couple reportedly chose traditional South Indian attire that reflected their cultural roots.

Their choice of jewellery also drew attention. While diamond jewellery has become a popular trend at celebrity weddings, Vijay and Rashmika opted for traditional gold jewellery. Social media discussions also highlighted the groom’s jewellery, with reports suggesting that the ornaments worn during the ceremony were worth crores of rupees.

Following the wedding celebrations, the couple also engaged in several gestures that impressed fans. Reports say they distributed sweets across the country and donated food to 16 temples as part of their celebrations.

A reception was also organised in Hyderabad for fans, along with a separate event for members of the media. The reception reportedly took place at one of the city’s most expensive hotels.

According to reports, the overall cost of the wedding and associated celebrations is estimated to be around ₹20–25 crore.

To maintain privacy during the ceremony, guests were reportedly not allowed to use mobile phones at the wedding venue. This was done to ensure that no photos or videos from the private rituals were leaked online.

The couple’s decision to reject the OTT deal has been widely discussed online, with many fans praising them for choosing to keep the special occasion personal rather than turning it into a commercial event.
