Watch: Dog Walking Dispute Turns Violent In Bengaluru Apartment, Seniors And Resident Clash
Argument over pet dog near senior citizens’ walking zone escalates into physical altercation; complaints filed from both sides.
A dispute over walking a pet dog inside a residential complex in Bengaluru escalated into a physical altercation involving several senior citizens and a resident, with the entire incident captured on CCTV.
The incident occurred at Brigade Eutopia East Antopia Apartment in the Varthur area of Bengaluru when a resident, Tarun Arora, had taken his dog out for a walk inside the complex.
According to a police complaint filed by Arora, the apartment complex has a designated walking and exercise space reserved for senior citizens. He had reportedly brought his dog close to that area, where several elderly residents were exercising.
Senior citizens present there questioned him about bringing the dog near the walking zone and allowing it to urinate nearby. What began as a verbal argument soon escalated into a heated confrontation.
The complaint states that the argument quickly turned physical, with seven to eight senior citizens allegedly assaulting Arora. He claimed that he was kicked and attacked with hands during the incident.
CCTV footage from the complex shows a group of senior citizens exercising when Arora walks nearby with his dog. A confrontation begins shortly after. During the altercation, one of the elderly men is seen throwing Arora’s phone from his hand, following which the situation turns violent.
A woman who was present at the spot intervened during the scuffle and separated the individuals involved, preventing the situation from escalating further.
Following the incident, Arora approached the Varthur Police Station and filed a complaint alleging assault by the group of residents.
However, the matter has taken another turn after a woman from the group filed a counter-complaint against Arora. In her statement, she alleged that the residents had only questioned him about the dog urinating in the designated walking area when Arora allegedly attacked and threatened them.
She further claimed that Arora intimidated the senior citizens by saying that their children live abroad and that he would not spare them. The woman also stated that they now fear for their safety and have requested police protection.
Police are currently examining complaints filed by both sides and reviewing the CCTV footage to determine what exactly happened during the incident. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
