Pune: It is always that the public think about the hardships faced by the police personnel. Datta Paigude of Kudje village near Khadakwasla is leading by example. He has built a resting room with a seating capacity of 15 for the police personnel.

The resting room was built within a span of 25 days near his own house. Datta was a cashier in a college canteen and was also a ‘police patil’ of the area. He is attached to the Uttamnagar police station.

“I respect the Maharashtra police. On my way to the office, I used to see police personnel stand on the streets round-the-clock and wonder about their protection and toilet arrangements. This is especially difficult for policewomen. This thought prompted me to build the resting room. It cost me less than Rs 5000 and I am happy to have done my bit for the police department. The resting room has been built using wood and grass. While the roof is covered with grass, the walls are made of mud and wood. The floor is covered with cow dung. The rest room has a seating capacity of 15 members,” said Datta.
