A woman’s social media post has gone viral as she searches for a female flatmate for her 3BHK apartment in a prime Bengaluru location. Identified as Vanshita on X, she is looking for a Hindi-speaking vegetarian who is comfortable with alcohol, smoking, and loud music. She prefers a young and easy-going flatmate who can move in immediately and is okay with having guests and pets.

The rent for the room is set at Rs 17,000 per month, which includes amenities such as a large bed, air conditioner, geyser, storage units, wardrobe, and a wall-mounted desk. The room also features an attached washroom and a balcony. A security deposit of Rs 70,000 is required, along with the first month’s rent and a Rs 12,000 setup fee. The apartment is located on the second floor in Wilson Garden and includes essential appliances like a fridge and washing machine, though there is no lift. Vanshita is also seeking a flatmate who can provide a TV, as the apartment currently lacks one.

While Vanshita highlighted the apartment’s proximity to the metro, cafes, and parks, her request has faced scrutiny. Many commenters pointed out the inconsistency in seeking a vegetarian flatmate while permitting smoking and alcohol.

One user remarked, “I also don’t allow non-vegetarian food in my home, but I don’t permit smoking or drinking either.” In response, Vanshita clarified, “This isn’t about health. I’m just outlining my preferences for a flatmate. It’s about creating a comfortable and peaceful living environment. I don’t mind any cooked food, but I can’t handle the sight of raw meat.”

Another user humorously stated, “I wish I were a girl right now. This is a great advertisement.” Comments continued, with one questioning, “Alcohol/smoking is okay, but non-veg is not?” Another user noted, “Alcohol and smoke is okay, but vegetarianism is where you draw the line lmao.” Yet another commented, “Is it your house? Too many demands. Hope you would be okay with adjusting to the other person’s requirements too.”

The post has ignited discussions around lifestyle preferences and compatibility in shared living situations.
