Pimpri, October 15, 2024: The Tax Collection Department of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is primarily responsible for assessing and collecting taxes on newly registered properties within its jurisdiction. In addition, transferring property ownership to the rightful individual is also a significant task. The 15th Finance Commission directed the Maharashtra Government’s Registration and Stamp Department to integrate its system with PCMC’s Tax Collection Department’s computer system. Following these directives, the integration has now been successfully completed.

As of October 11, 2024, PCMC has direct access to real-time information regarding property transactions (sales and purchases) through this integrated system. As a result, the property transfer process will now occur without delay, and the long-standing issue of delays in property transfers after a sale or purchase will be resolved. This automatic process will be facilitated online, eliminating the need for citizens to submit a separate application for property transfers. Even if a citizen does not apply for the transfer, the process will still be completed within the prescribed time frame based on the information provided by the Registration and Stamp Department.

PCMC will receive essential details, such as the buyer’s and seller’s names, the property registration date, and transaction details. The corporation will first verify the details of the buyer and seller along with the complete property information. Once verified, a transfer fee of 0.50% will be calculated based on either the property’s market value or the highest stamp duty amount paid. The payment link for the total transfer fee will be sent via SMS to the property owners, who must pay the fee promptly through the provided online link. If the transfer fee is not paid within the stipulated time, it will be included in the next property tax bill.

Additionally, PCMC has urged citizens planning to buy or sell properties to mention the property number during the registration of sale deeds to facilitate faster processing.

We are always ready to provide fast services to citizens!

“The PCMC Tax Collection Department has already provided both online and offline methods for property transfer applications. However, with the new system, information about property transactions will be available directly to the Tax Collection Department. Through this new technology, PCMC is committed to improving the property transfer system, ensuring citizens save time and receive faster services,” said Shekhar Singh, Commissioner and Administrator, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.

Integration with the computer system will accelerate administrative processes!

“Following the 15th Finance Commission’s directives, the integration of Maharashtra Government’s Registration and Stamp Department with PCMC’s Tax Collection Department’s computer system has been completed. This will expedite administrative procedures, as the information on property transactions will be immediately available to the Tax Collection Department, allowing for faster completion of the transfer process. This will save citizens time and enhance the efficiency of administrative work,” said Pradeep Jambhale-Patil, Additional Commissioner (1), Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.

Administrative processes will become transparent and easier !

The integration of the Maharashtra Government’s Registration and Stamp Department with PCMC’s Tax Collection Department’s computer system, as directed by the 15th Finance Commission, is now complete. The departments are already receiving detailed information on property sales and purchases. This system will ensure transparency in administrative processes, preventing delays and making the transfer process smoother, said Avinash Shinde, Assistant Commissioner, Tax Assessment and Collection Department, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation
